I have been teaching Chemistry at the college level (Chaffey College) for over twenty years and have enjoyed it immensely. I have taught both Introductory and General Chemistry labs and classes, developing dozens of professional grade power point presentations to elucidate lab procedures and concepts. I have three graduate degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY and UCLA. In addition, my Chemistry education is very extensive, having done research for several decades in single crystal growth, photovoltaic solar cells, and epitaxial growth of semiconductor compounds.

I have previously tutored several students and I am very proud of giving them the ability of solving extremely complex problems by breaking them up until simpler parts and utilizing chemistry principles to solve them.

I would be especially good in tutoring AP Chemistry because of my extensive experience in teaching first year college chemistry. I even once taught Introductory Chemistry at a High School. In addition I have previously tutored high school students in AP Chemistry. Also, I have a database of thousands of solved Chemistry questions and problems and dozens of quizzes, that would be useful to increase a student's proficiency.

Physics

Physics

I am a Physical Chemist and have taken about a half-dozen Physics college courses (in addition, I had a year of high school Advanced Placement Physics). Also, I have several undergraduate Physics textbooks at home, such as Benson and Halliday & Resnick, which should prove very useful in tutoring sessions with your daughter. By the way, Robert Resnick was my Physics college instructor. At UCLA I took several graduate courses, e.g. Thermodynamics, Transport Phenomena, and Mass Transfer, which are based on Physics, My knowledge in Physics is strong involving some fairly complex regimes such as statistical mechanics and quantum theory. I have a strong belief in emphasizing the fundamentals, such as unit factoring and analysis. Complex processes in science can usually be broken up into more straight forward or less complicated segments for a better understanding.

Incredible Knowledgeable

Howard is incredibly knowledgeable in a large variety of chemistry and he has power points that he has created from teaching. I need the K.I.S. (Keep it simple) method and he teaches me exactly what I need to know in order to get my word problems correct. He is a wealth of knowledge. I am continuing my lessons with him regularly. I'm very pleased that I found him on this site!
