Hi, I’m Kata. It’s so nice to meet you! I am a Mechanical Engineering major with a Math Minor at Cal Poly Pomona, and I have been tutoring math for the past five years. I first got into tutoring by helping my friends in my free time, then began volunteering as a peer mentor at my high school. From there, I worked at Mathnasium, and now I tutor here through Wyzant! I specialize in AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC, having personally scored a 5 on both exams (with an AB subscore of 5). I have also successfully tutored students in Pre-Algebra, Algebra One, Algebra Two, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Pre-Calculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Business Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and more!

I really appreciated working with Kata in Precalc this year! She was always patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging, even when I was struggling to understand a concept right away. She guided me through every process and often let me find my own mistakes first, which helped me build confidence and feel even more accomplished when things finally clicked. It’s clear that she really knows her material, but what stood out most was how supportive she was throughout every session. My daughter has been working with Kata for her spring semester in high school. Kata was able to greatly help her in Algebra II. She was always on time, professional and available. We are on the east coast while she is on the west but had no problems scheduling and finding weekly times that work in addition to weekend extra study sessions.
