I'm Angie. It's a pleasure to meet you! I graduated Arizona State University with a Bachelors degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, followed with a double Master's in Criminology and Forensic Psychology. In college, I realized the classes I appreciated the most weren't necessarily the topics I was most interested in. Rather, it was the professors who made the classes enjoyable. These professors were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching the material in the classroom, and willing to go the extra mile when I asked for additional help or clarification. I try to bring this knowledge to my tutoring approach, and do everything I can to make learning a pleasant experience. I use lesson plans in which I usually introduce the topic in a fun and creative way, then explicitly teach the material. Afterwards, I always ensure time for students to practice the material on their own. Of course, this method can be adjusted based on the subject and student's individual needs.
I have years of Graduate Teaching Assistant and tutoring with Arizona State University and worked directly with any student who needed additional assistance. I also held small focus groups of 5-10 students in my classes. These were all students who needed the extra help to make sure they didn't fall behind. I have held tutoring sessions in person and online in subjects including criminal justice, psychology, math, English, writing, vocabulary, history, science, and many more focused subjects.
I want to benefit the students that I work with as much as possible, therefore welcome any resources or suggestions that students or parents can provide. I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson.
