For the past 28 years, I have been working in the IT industry. I started my career as a software engineer and moved to product marketing after completing my MBA. I enjoyed working in the tech industry, but I always felt there was more I could offer. I discovered my teaching passion after leading the Jr. Achievement program at my daughters' elementary school for all the years they attended.
Each session lasted 45 minutes, but as the saying goes, time passes quickly when someone is having fun. Jr. Achievement was only so long, and my daughters eventually grew out of the program, though I have continued to support them through their middle school, high school, and college journeys.
My favorite memories of those eight years came from when the kids’ faces lit up as my teaching clicked; I loved the smile that spread from ear-to-ear when they finally understood. Tutoring provides me with an opportunity to revive my passion for teaching.
As a tutor, I will consistently work with students to spark curiosity and help them understand real-world problems more deeply (my 28 years of technology background will help here). I will use adaptive learning strategies, such as whiteboards and detailed step-by-step guidance, to personalize each student's experience so they reach their full potential.
