A Student Who Wants to Learn and Spread Learning

I am an incoming medical student and have earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary health and society from Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo. My academic background includes completing over seven AP courses and preparing for and taking the MCAT, experiences that have strengthened my ability to master challenging material and break it down into clear, manageable concepts. Through this journey, I’ve developed strong study strategies and a solid foundation in subjects like biology, chemistry, and math, which I bring into my tutoring.

My tutoring experience began in high school, where I worked with early primary school students in both one-on-one and small group settings. One of my most impactful experiences was teaching in a summer program for first graders, where I introduced STEAM concepts through hands-on activities like bracelet-making to explain binary and beginner coding through Scratch. I brought that energy and adaptability into my later roles as a behavioral technician and as a substitute, where I worked with students across a range of ages, learning styles, and abilities. These experiences have helped me learn how to communicate clearly, adjust in real time, and create an engaging learning environment.

As a tutor, I focus on making complex topics approachable without oversimplifying them. I tailor each session to the student’s needs and emphasize active learning, problem-solving, and strong study habits rather than memorization. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. I aim to help students not only improve academically, but also become more independent and effective learners.
