Hi, I'm Abby! I graduated summa cum laude from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Screenwriting and a 3.95 GPA, and I've spent the past several years working in television development in Los Angeles. Most recently, I served as the Development Assistant at Shore Z Productions, David Shore's production company (The Good Doctor), where I analyzed incoming scripts, books, and podcasts, wrote detailed professional coverage, and contributed development notes on projects in active consideration. Before that, I worked in unscripted development at 101 Studios, where I assessed submissions, researched IP, and helped coordinate development shoots and high-profile interviews for projects at NBCU and HBO.
My entertainment career also includes production work on NCIS: Los Angeles at CBS and Danger Force at Nickelodeon, giving me a well-rounded perspective on how stories move from the page to the screen. I've read and evaluated hundreds of scripts professionally, and I know firsthand what makes writing stand out - not just technically, but from the perspective of the people deciding what gets made.
I'm currently pursuing a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and I tutor because I love helping people grow as writers and communicators. Whether you're a student working on essays and academic writing, an aspiring screenwriter trying to break into the industry, or someone who wants to become a stronger, more confident writer, I tailor my approach to your specific goals and skill level.
My teaching style is collaborative and encouraging. I believe the best way to improve as a writer is through hands-on practice with honest, constructive feedback — the same approach I used professionally when providing notes on scripts in development. I'm patient, organized, and genuinely invested in helping my students succeed.
I'm available for both online and in-person sessions in the Los Angeles area, and I'm happy to offer a brief introductory conversation so we can discuss your goals before we get started.
