Teaching is a privilege. To be able to guide the next generation is to be able to shape the future of the world. When you are a student with me, don't expect answers to your questions. Expect to have more questions than ever! Our innate curiosity and hunger to know, for the sake of education, been put into neat little boxes that we call different subjects for our learning. While focusing on the subject at hand, we can weave in and out of different topics, keep it relevant to what's happening in the world today, and keep learning fresh and fun.
For example, in math, we can relate an algebra assignment to a python script, and even write a code which will perform a small specific task. You may or may not learn this in class, but such knowledge drives our computers and their logic. In biology, I may ask you to count the number of species you see when you're outside, and maybe ask questions like "why does this one have this particular shape, or color?". In history, we could talk about the conflict between the executive branch that went to Vietnam, versus the younger generation at home, and how it aligned with other rebellion or protest movements at home, or how information technology allowed the diversification of employment to women and minorities.
If you want to dive deep into your subject, please reach out to me! We can always work out the rate to something reasonable. I look forward to hearing from you!

Approved Subjects

ACT English

ACT English

I really love english and have a good command of the language. English is very versatile and can be used in a very technical and scientific sense, but also when words fail to provide descriptions, conveys beauty and art. I wish students find full expression when communicating.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Well versed in math from algebra to Calculus III. Problems and concepts in math were very relevant to my college major, biochemistry, and is very useful to solve specific problems in Engineering and Science.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have strong knowledge of all the concepts in Algebra I and II.
American History

American History

Passionate about the history of many countries and their development. The Western World and particularly the US has really shaped the current state of our planet. Major events, such as slavery and its abolishment, the changing state of the indigenous people, and other events tell the tale of America. Forgetting history is to forget our roots.
Biology

Biology

I have a good general knowledge in all topics of biology, (human body systems, cell biology, genetics, cellular respiration and photosynthesis, etc.) and detailed knowledge of Biochemistry concepts (biomolecular structures, metabolic pathways etc.)
Calculus

Calculus

In senior year of high school, I hesitantly took AP Calculus BC (both Calc I and II in the same year), but with the help of two schoolmates, not only aced the class, but also really enjoyed it! I had not really exercised my logic to that degree, and in college I continued to take Calculus III and learned even more.
Chemistry

Chemistry

Strong knowledge of high school and college chemistry.
Geometry

Geometry

Have taught geometry to Monte Vista students in San Ramon, under Huntington Learning Center management.
Guitar

Guitar

I’m very passionate about music, played piano as child, and composed beats and wrote lyrics in high school. In the past few years, I learned guitar through mostly pop songs, like “Circles” from Post Malone, or the Begin Again soundtrack by Kiera Knightley. I also really enjoy Corrine Rae Bailey and look forward to learning some of her songs. I can also freestyle and improvise at a beginner level.
Organic Chemistry

Organic Chemistry

I have a thorough understanding of all the concepts of Organic Chemistry. Not only have I taken a year of Ochem at Texas A&M University under the more rigorous professor, but also continue to review it constantly for my MCAT preparation, which only helps to improve my knowledge of the subject. I have helped many of my peers during the two semesters of Ochem when it came near test time, and also have tutored Ochem to family friends off of WyzAnt.
SAT Math

SAT Math

At first when I looked at the SAT, I was mind boggled. How are all these kids scoring so well? What am I doing wrong? How can I possibly get good at this? With my mom’s insistent driving and motivating me to go SAT classes, I started becoming more familiar with problems, and I eventually ended up loving it! I formed a study group and we would work out English and math problems til we got them right!
Video Production

Video Production

When I was in high school biology, I made my first video using windows movie maker about reptiles (featuring Steve Irwin), where we had a comedic take on reptile reproduction, eggs, and featured an awesome scene at the end about with me dressed up as a crocodile wrestling someone else. I’ve made other videos, including a family tradition of a certain annual ritual using iMovie.
Water Polo

Water Polo

Hi! I played four years of water polo for mission San Jose and Dougherty valley and was known as “Sabi Lobby”, the only one on the team attempt lob shots! I played varsity for two years, and recently played one season of Master’s with Triton Aquatics, where we spent time practicing drills, scrimmaging, and volunteering to allow younger ages to play.
