I graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's in biomedical engineering from the University of California, Irvine, and I am currently an MD-PhD student focusing on translational medical device research. I have 6+ years of research in biomedical sciences and medical device development, and 5+ years of experience founding and growing MedTech startups, leading to numerous medical devices and 20+ publications, abstracts, and conference presentations.

From my education journey, I've learned the importance of having a great teacher to enjoy the classroom, learn and understand the content, and develop the skills that extend beyond the classroom. I have come to learn that the best teachers have a strong passion in their work and in inspiring the next generation of students through active learning, engagement with real-world applications, and careful attention to the individual needs of each student.

I have tutored and advised students for the last 15+ years across ELA, STEM, medicine, research, entrepreneurship, and academic/career planning. From my interdisciplinary background and vast experience as a tutor and advisor, I have a strong foundation in a variety of topics, understand the needs of students, and possess the skills necessary to help my students succeed.

In my tutoring lessons, I use various techniques to enable my students to gain a deep understanding of course content and integrate what they learn with real-world applications. My goal is to facilitate long-term retention and understanding so that my students have great performance in school and develop skills that they can take beyond the classroom and into the real world. To optimize my lessons, I tailor my plan to the needs and goals of my students on an individual basis. Through my coursework and research experience as a biomedical engineer, I have developed strong foundations in MATLAB, which I still regularly use for creating various programs, simulations, AI/ML models, analyses, and GUIs. I also have experience interfacing MATLAB with microcontrollers directly and through bluetooth. I have certifications for MATLAB Onramp, MATLAB Machine Learning, MATLAB Deep Learning, and Convolutional Neural Networks. Some of my more notable projects include a program with a GUI system that interfaces with an Arduino system via bluetooth to connect to a microcontroller and acquire sensor data, a CNN to analyze bruise images, and a physics simulator that interfaces a GUI with Simulink to simulate simple harmonic motion, pendulum motion, and projectile kinematics.
