I graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's in biomedical engineering from the University of California, Irvine. From my education journey, I've learned the importance of having a great teacher to enjoy the classroom, learn and understand the content, and develop the skills that extend beyond the classroom. I have come to learn that the best teachers have a strong passion in their work and in inspiring the next generation of students through active learning, engagement with real-world applications, and careful attention to the needs of each student.

Since high school, I have tutored students in various topics relating to STEM, medicine, career planning, and higher education. From my undergraduate and graduate studies as a biomedical engineering pre-med student, and with my previous background in tutoring, I have a strong foundation in a range of topics, understand the needs of current students, and possess the skills necessary to help my students succeed.

In my lessons, I use various techniques to teach my students to deeply understand course content, solve problems, apply their understanding to new contexts, and integrate what they learn with real-world applications. My goal is to facilitate long-term retention and understanding so that my students have great performance in school and gain/strengthen skills that they can take beyond the classroom and into the real world. I am providing lessons and advising to K-12 and undergraduate students in topics relating to STEM, medicine, and college/higher education preparation (including graduate and medical school). To optimize my lessons, I tailor my plan to the needs and goals of my students on an individual basis. Feel free to contact me for more information or to schedule a lesson!

Approved Subjects

AutoCAD

AutoCAD

During my studies and R&D experience as a biomedical engineer, I have gained 4+ years of experience with CAD, utilizing software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks. I have developed numerous parts, drawings, and assemblies relating to a wide range of devices and hardware, with particular emphases in medical devices. My work with AutoCAD has included designs of medical devices, such as microfluidic devices.
Biostatistics

Biostatistics

Through my undergraduate and graduate studies as a biomedical engineer, and my 4+ years of experience with research, I have gained a strong background in biostatistics. I have taken coursework and tutored students in biostatistics and biomedical engineering labs that build on these concepts. In my research, I regularly use biostatistics to design experiments and perform analyses.
Career Development

Career Development

With my experience in STEM as a premedical biomedical engineer, over the past 4+ years, I have assisted students in high school and college determine their career paths, and plan their academics and extracurriculars to help them succeed. In particular, I have assisted students interested in engineering, STEM as a whole, and medicine. Having been an engineering premedical and graduate student, I understand the needs to succeed in engineering and premed majors, and how to decide on and apply for higher education (Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, MD) and/or jobs in industry.
Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering

During my undergraduate and graduate studies as a biomedical engineer, I have taken a wide range of courses in chemical engineering topics including chemistry, engineering, material science, and data analysis. Since starting college, I have gained 5+ years of experience tutoring students in these topics. I also have extensive experience with programming, developing analysis algorithms and plots, and utilizing common statistical methods.
Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

During my undergraduate and graduate studies as a biomedical engineer, I have taken a wide range of courses in electrical engineering topics including programming, electromagnetism, signals and control systems, instrumentation design, circuits, MEMS, engineering, material science, and data analysis. Since starting college, I have gained 5+ years of experience applying these concepts in medical device projects, and tutoring students in these topics.
Environmental Science

Environmental Science

In high school, I grew a strong background in environmental science through AP Environmental Science, for which I scored a 5 on the AP exam. During my studies and work as a biomedical engineer, I strengthened my foundations in the physical, chemical, and biological foundations of environmental science through my coursework and 4+ years of research.
Genetics

Genetics

As a biomedical engineer and pre-med student, I gained strong foundations in biology including genetics, through my coursework and my preparations for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). I received an A+ in my genetics course during my undergraduate years, and have tutored several students to also achieve high grades in genetics. Regarding the MCAT, I scored in the 96th percentile for biological and biochemical systems, which also include genetics foundations.
MATLAB

MATLAB

Through my coursework and research experience as a biomedical engineer, I have developed strong foundations in MATLAB, which I still regularly use for creating various programs, simulations, AI/ML models, analyses, and GUIs. I also have experience interfacing MATLAB with microcontrollers directly and through bluetooth. I have certifications for MATLAB Onramp, MATLAB Machine Learning, MATLAB Deep Learning, and Convolutional Neural Networks. Some of my more notable projects include a program with a GUI system that interfaces with an Arduino system via bluetooth to connect to a microcontroller and acquire sensor data, a CNN to analyze bruise images, and a physics simulator that interfaces a GUI with Simulink to simulate simple harmonic motion, pendulum motion, and projectile kinematics.
Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

During my undergraduate and graduate studies in biomedical engineering, I covered a wide range of mechanical engineering concepts through physics, statics, dynamics, material science, CAD, and more. I also have 4+ years of experience with medical device projects where I utilize many mechanical engineering concepts in designing and testing devices. Throughout and after my engineering studies, I have tutored numerous students across a range of engineering topics for 5+ years.
Solidworks

Solidworks

Through my undergraduate and graduate engineering studies, and numerous medical device research projects, I have gained extensive experience in CAD and SolidWorks. I have been CSWA certified since 2021. Over the past 5+ years, I have used SolidWorks to create parts with micro and macro features, assemblies of full medical devices, drawings for documentation, and several analyses such as motion studies and FEA.
