I am an experienced special education teacher with 10 years of classroom experience supporting students with a wide range of learning needs and disabilities. In 2026, I was honored to be named San Luis Obispo County Special Education Teacher of the Year, a recognition that reflects my passion for helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Throughout my career, I have worked with children with many different disabilities and learning profiles, and I understand the importance of meeting each child exactly where they are.
I have taught reading and math intervention, supported students with executive functioning skills, and helped children build confidence in areas that may feel challenging for them. I also enjoy teaching social skills and incorporating creativity, including art, into learning whenever possible. My goal is to make tutoring feel encouraging, individualized, and positive, while helping students develop both skills and confidence.
I truly value collaboration with families and believe that students make the most progress when parents, teachers, and support providers work together. In addition to working directly with students, I have enjoyed mentoring new teachers and sharing strategies that help children succeed. I bring patience, creativity, structure, and a deep commitment to every student I work with.
