I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, which strengthened my ability to communicate clearly and present complex information in an accessible way. I also earned a California Single Subject Teaching Credential (Document No. 250054909), which provided formal training in instructional strategies, classroom management, and assessment at the secondary level. This educational background allows me to explain mathematical concepts clearly while adapting my instruction to different learning styles and academic needs.

I have eight years of experience teaching high school mathematics to students in grades nine through twelve in a traditional classroom setting. During that time, I taught a range of courses including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Algebra 2 Honors, Calculus, and Algebra 1 Support. I worked with students at varying skill levels, from those needing additional foundational support to those enrolled in advanced coursework. My role involved lesson planning, direct instruction, small-group and one-on-one support, and ongoing assessment to ensure student understanding and growth.

My teaching and tutoring approach focuses on building strong conceptual understanding, confidence, and problem-solving skills. I emphasize clear, step-by-step explanations and encourage students to actively engage with the material by asking questions and explaining their reasoning.
