Specialised Caltech master tutor for Physics and Maths

Hi there,

I am a physics master tutor with 10 years experience in teaching. Subjects taught are AP Physics 1/2/C, IB Physics, IGCSE Physics, A-level Physics, high-school physics and college-level physics.

I hold a BEng. Degree in Engineering from National University of Singapore (NUS) and Master Degree in Science from California Institute of Technology (Caltech), both with full scholarships. In college and graduate school, I have been a teaching assistant on engineering economy and other scientific subjects.

Since moving to California, I have served as a private tutor for high school students. I am very familiar with the school curriculum, SAT and AP requirements. One of my tutees, Michelle, was once struggling with sciences. After a few weeks of classes, she managed to get As for her tests in both maths and sciences.

My teaching philosophy is centered around patient guidance and encouragement for my students. I always work with my students to find the best way to teach. I understand that learning new materials could be intimidating. As a patient and experienced tutor, I will help students to deepen their understanding of the concepts. More importantly, I will help them develop useful study skills that will serve them well into the future. For example, great skills to have are getting organised and prepared for classes and revise concepts regularly.

Immersed in a family of teachers, I find it very natural to be in the teaching profession. As a passionate and caring teacher, I have taught students in various international and local schools. I am also a certified IB Physics teacher. Rest assured that students are taken care of in safe and capable hands!
