I have been teaching English literature, history, and communication skills for over ten years, working with students ranging from nine, through to university undergraduates.
My academic background includes a BA in English Literature and French from the University of Exeter and an MA in Classical Acting from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London — one of the world's leading drama and performance conservatoires.
Alongside my teaching work, I have spent fifteen years as a professional actor, with credits on Netflix, NBC, CBS, and on stage at Lincoln Center in New York and Shakespeare's Globe in London.
My teaching experience spans one-to-one private tutoring, small group coaching, and undergraduate lecturing at the University of West London, where I delivered Shakespeare and English literature workshops to groups of up to thirty students. I have worked extensively with secondary and undergraduate students on essay writing, textual analysis, literary criticism, European and world history, and exam preparation including SAT, AP, and IB.
I am a fluent French speaker and have experience teaching English and French language skills in both academic and professional settings.
My approach is tailored to each individual student. I focus on building genuine confidence alongside academic skill — helping students find their own voice on the page and in discussion, rather than simply drilling technique.

Approved Subjects

Accent Reduction

Accent Reduction

I trained in voice, speech, and accent work at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London and have worked professionally as an actor in the United States for fifteen years, performing in American accents across network television. That combination of formal training and sustained professional practice gives me a precise, practical understanding of how accents work — and how to change them.
Acting

Acting

I am a professionally trained actor with an MA in Classical Acting from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, with credits across major film, television, and theatre including Netflix, The CW, and Shakespeare's Globe. I have taught acting at postgraduate level at Central and the University of West London, developing original syllabuses in Shakespeare, screen technique, and Modern British and Irish Drama. My teaching draws directly from a working professional career spanning 20 years, giving students insight into both the craft and the realities of the industry. I specialise in helping actors develop agency, emotional authenticity, and the technical skills required for both stage and screen.
Debate

Debate

Effective debate demands two things: the ability to construct a rigorous argument and the confidence to deliver it under pressure. My BA in English Literature trained me in rhetoric, persuasion, and the close analysis of language, while fifteen years as a professional actor gave me the practical tools to think clearly and communicate compellingly when the stakes are high. That combination is exactly what I bring to debate coaching.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I hold a BA in English Literature and French from the University of Exeter and an MA from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. I have lectured in English literature and Shakespeare at undergraduate level at the University of West London, teaching groups of up to thirty students. I have worked one-to-one with students at secondary and undergraduate level on essay writing, close reading, textual analysis, and literary criticism across a wide range of texts and exam specifications.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

Public speaking demands exactly what performance training teaches: the ability to organise your thoughts clearly and deliver them with genuine confidence under pressure. My BA in English Literature trained me in language, structure, and persuasion, while fifteen years as a professional actor — on stage at Lincoln Center and Shakespeare's Globe, and on screen for Netflix, NBC, and CBS — gave me the practical tools to hold a room, manage nerves, and communicate with real presence. That is what I bring to every public speaking session.
Theater

Theater

I trained in classical acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London — one of the world's leading conservatoires — and have spent fifteen years working professionally in theatre, television, and film, including productions at Lincoln Center and Shakespeare's Globe. I have taught acting, scene study, Shakespeare, and screen performance at undergraduate level at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and the University of West London. I bring both rigorous formal training and sustained professional experience to every theatre class.
