Hi! I'm Kiran, and I am currently a sophomore at Caltech. I have 4 years of experience tutoring in SAT prep, mathematics, and writing. I have worked with students ranging from ages 5 to 18, adapting my teaching style to meet each student’s learning needs and goals. I specialize in SAT preparation and earned a 1560 on the SAT, with a 780 in Evidence-Based Reading & Writing and a 780 in Math.
I have extensive experience helping students improve their SAT performance, and many of my mentees have raised their scores by around 100 points within just a few weeks through targeted practice, strategic test-taking techniques, and focused review of weak areas. I emphasize strong conceptual understanding and efficient problem-solving strategies through extensive review of content tested on the exam and solving practice problems together with my students.
I also have significant experience teaching high school mathematics, including advanced and AP-level coursework. I earned A grades in all high school and AP classes I took and graduated high school at age 15. My coursework included AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Physics (Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism), AP Statistics, and additional math and science classes.
I specialize in catering to all learning styles and have extensive experience working with gifted students. I am very familiar with gifted programs and curricula, as well as the academic, social, and motivational needs of gifted learners, having gone through gifted education myself. I focus on appropriately challenging advanced students while keeping them engaged, supported, and motivated. My approach is patient, structured, and encouraging, and I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
