Hi! My name is Jonah. I will be graduating from Caltech with a B.S. in Mathematics in June, and I'll be continuing to study math as a Ph.D. Candidate at UCLA in the Fall. My research interests are knot theory and Heegaard-Floer homology.
I am very passionate about teaching math and science to a wide range of people with a diverse set of goals, from high schoolers getting ready for their APs to college students preparing for the Putnam. My classroom setting is entirely online over Zoom, but...

I am very passionate about teaching math and science to a wide range of people with a diverse set of goals, from high schoolers getting ready for their APs to college students preparing for the Putnam. My classroom setting is entirely online over Zoom, but I try to provide a very personal experience with versatile help. I'm very much willing to adjust hours to accommodate to students' needs, and I hope that I can instill the love of math within each of my students!
I've worked as a RISE tutor for Caltech for the past year, helping middle and high school students with their STEM (specifically math and chemistry) homework and the development of good study habits. I've been a Teaching Assistant for Caltech's Ma1b Linear Algebra and FSRI Math courses in my time at Caltech. I also tutored French language in high school.
Here are some of my accomplishments:
*USAMTS Silver Medal x2
*AIME Qualifier x3
*Stephen H. Strogatz Prize for Math Communication
*Gee Poster Presentation Finalist, Caltech Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship
