Hello, my name is Monte, and I would like to assist you in becoming a more confident writer. I'm an English major at CSULA with a 4.0 GPA -- I am currently on medical leave from the Spring 2024 semester to allow my wound to heal. From July 2023 until January 2024, I worked on campus at the Center for Academic Success as a writing tutor. I have worked on papers ranging from Kinesiology to TV/Film, and Ethnic Studies, as well as technical writing. I am good with young adults and adults thanks to my experiences at CSULA, plus my experience tutoring in Pasadena City College's Adult Education Program.
I tutored from July 2018 -- August 2019 with the Adult Education program, assisting in history and English classes, until I was to work as a math tutor at the college itself, Pasadena City College. But my love is in writing, poetry, and reading, and I am happy to have switched back to the field of English. I love assisting others in becoming more confident and assured in their writing skills and abilities.
It is for me not to be the editor of one's work, but to be an assistant to learners in gaining the knowledge and understanding that is expected from them for their assignments and projects. I am patient, and understanding, and will work with you to better your confidence as a writer. We will work together to better understand what is expected and then you will make the changes to achieve the goal.
