My name is Adrian, and I am a recent high school graduate from Polytechnic School in Pasadena, California. I tutor in college counseling, ACT (or SAT) preparation, and college essay writing. I went through the college application process last year, and I understand from a student perspective how confusing and overwhelming the process can be. As your tutor, I will be able to walk you through the college process and help you create the best possible application. Here are some bullet points with my qualifications: Graduated as Co-Valedictorian of my class (achieving the maximum unweighted GPA of 4.0); Admitted to Caltech under Restrictive Early Action (acceptance rate of <3%); Admitted to USC Viterbi under Early Action and offered the Presidential and Viterbi scholarships; Admitted to UC Berkeley College of Engineering (was notified of acceptance early, invited to interview for Chancellor's and Raegants Scholarships); Admitted to Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in the Regular Decision round (where I ultimately enrolled); Admitted to every other UC that I applied to (including UCLA); Earned a 35 on my ACT (Breakdown: 36, 36, 36, 33); Earned a patent at age 15; I value honesty and authenticity, and I know how frustrating ambiguous or contradictory advice can be. With you or your child, I will be as straightforward as possible. Of course, the college process is non-binary, so there is no right or wrong "answer." However, knowing the ins and outs of application season will definitely help your profile shine in the hands of admissions officers, which is exactly what I am here to help you do.
