Excited about working with middle and high school students and passionate about teaching, I have taught social studies, English, English-as-a-Second Language, and standardized test preparation (CBEST, ACT, SAT, AP). I teach students research-based strategies to enable them to comprehend and analyze informational text effectively. Excited about working with middle and high school students and passionate about teaching, I have taught social studies, English, English-as-a-Second Language, and standardized test preparation (CBEST, ACT, SAT, AP). I teach students research-based strategies to enable them to comprehend and analyze informational text effectively. Teaching essay writing: argument (persuasive), expository, and literary analysis, is my specialty.

Social studies subjects taught include geography and regular and AP history courses. Also, I have taught English at different levels: ESL, remedial, regular, and honors.

My qualifications include a teaching credential in social studies and English with CLAD (i.e., a focus on teaching English language learners), a master's degree in history, and 14 years' teaching experience in public and parochial schools and tutoring centers. I truly enjoy tutoring and look forward to working with you/your student.

I have a master's degree in history, and my undergraduate work includes two upper-division courses in anthropology. With a teaching credential in social studies, I have taught middle and high school for 9 years. I teach students to "talk to the text" to make meaning of sophisticated texts, and to use metacognition to maintain awareness of their comprehension.

I passed the CBEST, earned my single teaching credential in English and social studies, and have nine years' teaching experience. In the course of tutoring for other companies, I taught the timed SAT essay. Finally, having taught SAT-level math, I am well able to tutor CBEST-level math.

I studied French in college, taking upper division courses before I switched majors. I converse in French once a week with an advanced learner.

Having played piano and sung in choirs, I am able to describe and discuss music using the common vocabulary. Finally, I have a teaching credential and can use a variety of strategies to assist students in understanding sophisticated text.

I met the California Single Subject Teaching Credential subject matter competency requirements in social studies and English by passing the Praxis. Having earned my master's degree in history, I have a solid background in this content area. I am confident I can assist students in preparing for the current CSET exam.

Best world history tutor!

Anu Radha taught our son world history. He is currently in eight grade and world history is definitely a difficult subject to master but with Anu's help and guidance we have seen a great improvement. She is very knowledgeable and patient. Takes the time to explain all the concepts. She is always on time and has been flexible with all our crazy schedules. Our son enjoys working with her. I would highly recommend her as a teacher to any student without any reservations!

Great essay analysis

Anu gave great comments to my daughter on how to improve her essay, which helped her a lot in her AP World History World History exam prep. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because some of Anu's comments contradicted what my daughter was taught in class. That's not Anu's fault, nor the class teacher's, but that decreased the usefulness of the comments a bit.

Great CBEST Tutor!

Anu was the tutor who helped me on my reading and writing part of the CBEST while I was preparing for my CBEST exam. She was amazing and helpful. She taught me how to write a logical essay and also tutored me about proving counter-argument in the essay. I improved a lot after the tutoring sessions with her. I am highly recommend Anu to be your tutor if you plan to take CBEST exam. She is very patient and great teacher. She is the best tutor I have worked with.
