I received my undergraduate degree from Harvard College, where I developed strong analytical, reading, and writing skills that now support my tutoring in ACT English, ACT Reading, Mandarin Chinese, and elementary math. At Harvard, I tutored undergraduate students in economics through peer-led study groups and one-on-one sessions. That experience taught me how to explain complex concepts clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and break down large ideas into manageable, step-by-step parts—skills that directly translate to teaching younger students core academic subjects.
Although my formal tutoring in college centered on economics, I have extensive experience helping younger students and peers informally in subjects such as reading comprehension, writing, and foundational math. I also grew up bilingual in Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese and English, and have helped both heritage and non-heritage learners with pronunciation, vocabulary building, basic conversation skills, and cultural understanding. My lessons are structured, patient, and tailored to the student’s pace, with the goal of building confidence as well as mastery.
Across all subjects, my approach emphasizes clarity, engagement, and practical strategies. Whether I am helping a student prepare for ACT Reading, guiding an elementary learner through early math concepts, or teaching introductory Mandarin, I focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving steadily. My goal is to help each student build strong academic foundations and genuine confidence in their abilities.
