After becoming a mother, I made the decision to stay home and raise my children full time. Now that my kids are in school before 2PM, I’m excited to return to work and do something meaningful that I truly enjoy—teaching Chinese and sharing Chinese culture!
I have experience teaching my own children Mandarin at home and discovered how much I love helping others learn the language. My teaching style is warm, patient, and flexible. I enjoy working with students of all ages—from young children to adults—and I adapt my lessons to their goals, whether they want to build a foundation in reading and writing, improve speaking and listening, or simply learn everyday conversation.
I use pinyin to help students learn pronunciation and build confidence in speaking. Pinyin has many similarities to English phonics, and I guide learners in making those connections to support faster progress.
I also emphasize Chinese culture in my lessons, integrating traditions, holidays, stories, and values into the learning process. For more advanced learners, I am happy to help with reading comprehension, writing practice, and even preparation for the AP Chinese Language and Culture exam.
I’m currently available for online tutoring in the mornings (Pacific Time), and I would be happy to support you or your child in learning Chinese in a joyful and effective way!
