Greetings! My name is Mina. I have been building my inventory of teaching skills and strategies for over 5 years now. From calmly guiding kids through new experiences as their rock climbing instructor, working one-on-one with autistic children as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), or teaching Japanese for classes of 12 children, my teaching experience has run the gamut of environments and needs. I firmly believe that students learn best when their teachers recognize the holistic nature of learning; by helping students identify their needs, they can work on being the best learners they can be, in addition to making progress in difficult subjects.
I am currently a community college student, working towards transferring to a university. Growing up, I struggled academically due to physical and mental health issues, in addition to high pressure school environments, despite being so desperately eager to learn. Because of this, I seek to be flexible and empathetic with students, so that students feel seen and supported while also continuing to provide necessary structure.
"I can do hard things" is my motto in life and in teaching. I look forward to seeing all the hard things we can tackle together!
