I am an experienced educator with nine years in the field. I spent seven years teaching in elementary classrooms across multiple grade levels, including Kindergarten, 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. For the past two years, I’ve worked in a charter school/homeschool hybrid setting, meeting one-on-one with students and families to support personalized learning goals.
In addition to my classroom experience, I am a trained Orton-Gillingham (OG) reading tutor and am currently pursuing my Interventionist Certificate through the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE), with an expected completion date of Spring 2026. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a focus on Teacher Education in 2016, received my teaching credential certificate in 2017, and earned my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University in 2020.
Even before becoming a classroom teacher, I loved tutoring students from elementary through high school. I’m especially passionate about helping students who struggle with reading and writing, and I also enjoy teaching elementary math.
The Orton-Gillingham approach is a structured, multisensory program designed to build mastery in reading, spelling, and handwriting. Instruction is tailored to each student’s individual needs through ongoing assessment of their reading, spelling, and comprehension skills. Lessons incorporate visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic learning to reinforce the connection between letters and sounds.
My goal is to help your child identify their strengths and overcome challenges by providing the tools they need to become a confident reader. I look forward to meeting with you and your child to assess their reading abilities and begin the journey toward growth and success.
