Wouldn't have got an A without her

I initially tried some other tutors but I ended up staying with Nicole because of her extremely effective teaching style, much better than any English teacher I ever had. It was only because of her that I was not only able to get a A in AP Lang both semesters, but get a 5 on the AP exam which I never thought was possible. Would highly recommend her to anyone!

Great AP Language tutor!
My daughter had first AP Language lesson today, and it went so well! The instructor explained the concepts in a very clear and engaging way, which helped my daughter understand the material much more easily. She especially appreciated the guidance on how to structure and organize her essay, and the feedback was very thorough and encouraging. My daughter came out of the lesson feeling more confident and motivated, and she said she actually enjoyed the class! We’re really happy with how the first session went and are looking forward to continuing the lessons. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend!
My friend recommended Nicole to us. She has been an incredible support for my son in his Honor English class. She is highly experienced with high school writing assignments and knows how to guide students in a way that builds both skill and confidence. What stands out most is her ability to make the process enjoyable in that she brings humor and warmth to each session, and I often hear her and my son laughing while discussing his writing. That positive energy is so important during the stressful high school years, and it has helped my son stay motivated and engaged. Nicole is a wonderful AP lang tutor!
Nicole was a wonderful AP lang tutor for my daughter who was not feeling comfortable with even the basics of the exam as taught in her school. Nicole clearly and concisely explained many of the concepts. My daughter felt very comfortable with the concepts after only a few sessions with Nicole as each session was "high yield". She was able to score a 5 on the exam, and there is no question that Nicole was instrumental in preparing her to achieve this score. We are also extremely grateful to Nicole for working around my daughter's very busy schedule during the AP exam week. My daughter wanted to get more practice essays done, and Nicole very kindly did them remotely, providing written remarks and scores even though she did not have a formal lesson. I cannot recommend Nicole highly enough and we are sure to engage her again for my daughter's AP lit class next year.

Nicole met with my son a handful of times to help prepare him for the multiple-choice section of the AP English Language & Composition exam. He really enjoyed working with her and thought their sessions were productive and helpful. As a result, he felt much more confident going into the test, and was delighted to earn a 5. We will definitely be enlisting Nicole's help for AP English Literature as needed, too. Highly recommend!

Wonderful tutor
My daughter took lessons with Nicole 3 months before her AP English Language and Composition test. Her school doesn't provide AP classes so she knew nothing about the test before she started lessons with Nicole. Nicole was a wonderful teacher, she was very experienced and detail oriented. Each week she assigned several essays for my daughter as homework, and they reviewed it together in the lesson. I can literally see my daughter's improvement each week. My daughter got 5 from her AP test and we are very happy. I would highly recommend Nicole if you are also looking for a tutor for AP Language!

Knowledgeable, reliable and empowering tutor
During his first year of high school, my son Jaxon struggled to independently adjust to high school level writing assignments. He also showed some natural teenage resistance to outside help. As a parent, I knew this combination could lead to painful struggles with everything from literary analysis to SAT prep and eventually college admissions essays. As an engineer, I have learned that effective written communication is a rare and powerful skill that can push any career to greater heights. We are so lucky to have found Nicole to help Jaxon learn and sharpen these skills. Her AP English teaching background provides useful familiarity with subject matter throughout the school year. Her conversational ability makes her relatable and allows her to push past the natural teenage resistance to extra-curricular school work. Most of all, she makes herself available when needed. Over the past year, Jaxon has matured from a student who feared writing assignments to one who is comfortable and very successful writing essays in class. Big improvement over AP English Lang
My son is a STEM kid who never paid attention to the technicalities in English language. At the beginning of the year we were really worried about his upcoming AP English Lang exam. After training with Nicole for the entire year (2 hours per week), what a difference it made. My son just came back and said he probably scored most of the MCQs correctly and handled the FRQs with techniques that Nicole had taught him. What a relief! She always gives exceptional feedback, pointing out the things that need the most improvement/enhance the essay most if fixed. Going step by step, it is very clear how to enhance the message I am trying to tell, and helps me understand not only how to improve the current essay but my writing skills in general.
