My goals for my students are to help them feel comfortable interacting with peers, within society, and in their professional capacities, as well as to achieve, academically, at a higher level.
My tutoring program does involve daily activities and exercises to be completed independently. The student and I can go over a student's writing in real time using Google Docs, which allows us to view the document and interact with the document together. Students share their work with me via Google folders. After each lesson, the student will receive an email with the next week's assignments. All directions for my program will be provided at no cost prior to our starting the program. I want to make sure that you understand how it works and what to expect.

I have been teaching English to second-language learners since 1986. I hold a Language Development Specialist lifetime teaching certificate. I also speak enough Spanish to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking families. I have edited a couple of published books, and I edit essays and dissertations regularly for high school, college-level, and graduate students. Grammar is one of my fortes! However, good grammar alone does not make a great essay or written piece. Therefore, I build my students' skills in creativity, language, sentence structure, essay structure, organization, and overall presentation. Additionally, I work on students' pronunciation in English, with correct positioning of the lips, tongue, teeth, and the correct stress on certain syllables of words.
