I am an audio engineer, producer and composer with a strong passion for creating and mixing great music and audio content. I have over ten years of professional audio experience in the music industry and in this time I've learned the skills, technical proficiency and positive attitude it takes to excel as a producer, composer, engineer and artist. I have a passion for learning and teaching and I am eager to share my knowledge and help others achieve their goals professionally and personally.
In 2020 I earned my first RIAA Platinum award for my production on Kodak Black's album "Dying to Live" which sold over 1,000,000 copies and was #1 on the Billboard Charts. Over the years I have produced and engineered many genres of music including: Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, Soul, Funk, Reggae, Folk and more. In addition to my production and engineering work I have worked in education giving private lessons and teaching workshops with the non-profit groups. I graduated Ex'pression College in May 2014 as the Valedictorian of my class and earned a BAS degree in Sound Arts. My training thoroughly covered many areas of audio production including recording and mixing using analog and digital workflows, post production, composition, live sound and studio maintenance.
Currently I am running my own studio in the CA Bay Area. I have also worked in commercial recording studios, in post-production with corporate clients as a composer/sound designer, and on production and mixing for podcasts.
I like to make the learning experience fun, engaging and personalized to your needs to help you reach your goals quick and efficiently. I will make sure to get back to any questions or inquiries quickly so we can get acquainted and start exploring music and sound!

Knew every answer!!

Ian was very helpful to me with a project that had a lot of historical importance. No question was off the table. He also helped me with shortcuts and things to get around faster in Pro Tools, which is exactly what I need for the project I initiated with his assistance.

Very inspiring and patient. Very knowledgeable!

I have taken 2 lessons with Ian and he is great! He taught me a lot of things I didn’t know about Logic Pro X. He also helped me improve a song I’m writing. I’m really looking forward to continuing to take lessons with Ian.

Great communication and very knowledgeable!

Ian is great with communication and is infinitely patient with all the questions I asked. I feel like my son is in good hands. He’s a beginner and Ian had no problems with tutoring him. Highly recommend if you want a professional music producing, beat making, all around knowledgeable tutor with real life experience.
