Dear Students & Parents,

As a fully credentialed Education Specialist (Special Education Teacher) with 7 years of classroom experience (preschool to 12th grade) with an active teaching credential, I excel in teaching reading, writing, and math. I’ve seen “aha” moments and watched many students transform from struggling with letter sounds to reading chapter books.

I specialize in the Sonday System, a program that is rooted in Orton Gillingham methods and breaks reading and writing into clear, systematic steps. I also specialize in “The Writing Revolution” writing method. Every tool I use is backed by science.

I have accumulated many interactive Math materials during COVID. Students report having a lot of fun and learning a lot with these materials. I can generate placement tests to determine where gaps are in Math and work to bridge the gap to where a child is currently in a General Education class.

I tailor lessons to each student’s needs and interests. In person, I use manipulatives like counting animals or letter tiles. Online, I leverage various digital manipulatives and tools.

I hold a California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate Disabilities) from CSU Northridge, with Autism Authorization, plus certifications in Sonday System, Pear Deck, Nearpod, Prodigy, and more. I’m trained in various academic assessments and attend workshops such as ISTE, California Mathematics Council, CARSPlus, etc to stay sharp and current. I also regularly listen to many educational podcasts in order to gain new insights.

Thank you for considering me. I’d love to help you succeed!

Sincerely,

Aaron
