Hi! I am Farhana. I hold a Master’s in Applied Statistics and a Bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering. I have 6+ years of experience helping students from elementary through early college strengthen their math skills and build real confidence.

During my Master’s program, I worked as a Graduate Research Assistant, where part of my role involved tutoring undergraduate students in Statistics, Probability, Algebra, and introductory Calculus. I supported students during office hours, guided them through assignments, and helped them prepare for exams — experience that strengthened my ability to explain challenging concepts clearly and step-by-step.

I also have school-based experience, including one year as a substitute teacher, frequently teaching 8th-grade math, and one year as a teacher’s aide, where I led small-group math interventions for students who needed additional support. Over the past 4 years, I’ve also provided private one-on-one tutoring for middle school, high school, and AP Statistics students.

I specialize in Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Statistics (including AP Statistics). Every student learns differently, so I begin with a short diagnostic and then create a customized plan based on their pace and learning style. My approach is patient, visual, and focused on helping students understand why math works. I use diagrams, real-world examples, and guided practice to make concepts clear and approachable.

Parents and students describe me as patient, clear, and encouraging. Students often see steady improvement in homework accuracy, test performance, and overall confidence after consistent sessions. My goal is to help each student build strong foundations, reduce anxiety, and experience the “aha” moments that make math enjoyable.
