Hi, my name is Brandon and I'm currently an undergrad student at UC San Diego majoring in Aerospace engineering. I graduated high school with a 4.65 weighted GPA and a 4.00 unweighted GPA, was salutatorian of my class, earned an award for excellence in my school’s engineering program, and took a total of 11 AP tests, receiving a 4 or 5 on all of them.

I specialize in tutoring math and science, with a strong focus on physics, especially AP-level courses. I have extensive experience tutoring middle and high school students in a one-on-one setting, achieved through both academic club volunteering and tutoring sessions outside of school. I’ve worked with both AP and non-AP students, and as such I adapt by tutoring style to support a wide range of skill levels.

My tutoring emphasizes conceptual understanding. To do this, I start by identifying what topic is causing confusion, then I explain the topic in a conceptual way that helps students understand the idea intuitively. Afterward I guide students in solving problems in a step-by-step mathematical approach. I find that this approach is very effective in creating a deeper understanding of the subject as a whole, which not only great for scoring well on exams, but also builds a strong foundation for students to learn more advanced ideas upon.

My highest priority is to create a comfortable and supportive environment that encourages learning, asking questions, and growing from mistakes. Whether you’re trying to study for an AP exam or want to strengthen your understanding of a topic you’re uncomfortable with, I’m happy to help.
