I have over five years of experience working with students in both K–12 and college-preparatory settings, and my background combines strong academic training with hands-on classroom teaching. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, where I graduated summa cum laude, as well as multiple associate degrees in History and the Arts and Humanities. I am currently continuing my studies in psychology, which has strengthened my understanding of how students learn, stay motivated, and build confidence.

My teaching experience spans a wide range of ages and learning environments. As a substitute teacher with Upland Unified School District, I have taught students from kindergarten through twelfth grade across subjects including English, math, science, history, and independent study courses. I have worked in traditional classrooms, long-term assignments where I created and followed lesson plans, and one-on-one settings supporting students with special needs. Additionally, I served as an Upward Bound Summer Public Policy Instructor at Harvey Mudd College, where I worked closely with low-income and potential first-generation high school students in an intensive academic program. In this role, I led daily classes, developed curriculum, mentored students, and supported their college readiness and academic skills.

As a tutor, my approach is patient, supportive, and student-centered. I focus on meeting students where they are, identifying gaps in understanding, and building skills step by step in a way that feels manageable and encouraging. I adapt my methods to each student’s learning style, whether that means breaking concepts down visually, practicing together through guided examples, or helping students organize their thoughts and develop confidence in their work. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them feel capable, supported, and motivated in their learning.
