One of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring is helping students reach that “aha” moment—when a challenging concept finally clicks and confidence replaces frustration. I specialize in personalized, one-on-one math and chemistry tutoring that transforms confusion into clarity by connecting abstract concepts to real-world applications.
Every student learns differently, which is why I take a customized, student-centered approach. I take time to understand each student’s learning style, strengths, and goals, then design a tailored curriculum to meet their needs. I regularly provide additional resources beyond the assigned textbook, including alternative explanations from other textbooks, targeted practice problems, and real-world examples to reinforce understanding.
I graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and earned a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. I have 5+ years of experience tutoring math at both the high school and college levels, covering pre-algebra through calculus, multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and statistics.
In addition to math, I tutor general chemistry, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry. I also bring 10+ years of professional experience as a Chemical Engineer, which allows me to clearly explain how math and chemistry concepts are applied in real academic and industry settings—especially helpful for students who struggle with abstract material.
I understand how frustrating it can be when textbook examples feel much easier than homework or exam problems. I focus on bridging that gap by teaching problem-solving strategies, breaking down complex questions step by step, and helping students develop the confidence to approach unfamiliar problems independently.
Whether you are preparing for exams, strengthening foundational skills, or aiming to excel in advanced coursework, I am committed to helping you achieve measurable academic progress.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have previously tutored students in Algebra I at both the high school and middle school levels in one-on-one sessions as well as group settings. A strong foundation in algebra is essential for advanced mathematics such as calculus and beyond. Therefore, it is imperative that algebra is taught in a way where the student is able to fully grasp the material. I do this by working together with the student to understand where they have difficulty and why. Once I have an idea of where the student needs help, I am able to provide the resources needed to make them feel confident in their ability to learn and succeed.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have previously tutored students in Algebra II at both the high school and middle school levels in one-on-one sessions as well as group settings.
Calculus

Calculus

I have over 5 years of experience tutoring students in calculus at both the high school and university levels. Topics covered included: differentiation (e.g product rule, quotient rule, chain rule), integration (e.g. integration by parts), single and multi-variable calculus, and differential equations. Most of my tutoring sessions have been on a one-one basis, although I have also provided tutoring with group study sessions.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I have tutored students in chemistry at both the high school and university levels. Topics covered in tutoring sessions include general chemistry (e.g. stiochiometry, gas laws, kinetics and electrochemistry), organic chemistry, and physical chemistry (e.g. thermodynamics). My background is in chemical engineering, so I have a strong foundation in chemistry.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I have previously tutored students in Pre-Algebra at both the high school and middle school levels in one-on-one sessions as well as group settings. A strong foundation in pre-algebra is essential for higher level math courses such as algebra. Therefore, it is imperative that pre-algebra is taught in a way where the student is able to fully grasp the material. I do this by working together with the student to understand where they have difficulty and why. Once I have an idea of where the student needs help, I am able to provide the resources needed to make them feel confident in their ability to learn and succeed.
