Hello, I’m Vincent. I am a full-time, professional math tutor with a B.A. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Higher Education from Indiana University–Bloomington.

I have been working with students for over a decade in both one-on-one and institutional settings. During graduate school, I served as the on-site manager of a campus-based tutoring center, where I not only tutored but also supervised other tutors and worked directly with students navigating academic frustration and performance pressure. That experience shaped how I approach my work today: structured, calm, and focused on long-term understanding rather than quick fixes.

My primary focus is high school mathematics(Algebra I & II, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus)but I regularly support advanced middle school students and college learners as well. I work with a wide range of students: those aiming for top AP scores, those trying to stabilize a slipping grade, and those who simply need concepts explained clearly for the first time.

My tutoring style is diagnostic and intentional. I identify where foundational gaps began, clarify core ideas in plain language, and reinforce them with targeted practice. Students leave sessions understanding not just how to solve a problem, but why the method works. Over time, this builds confidence and independence.

As a full-time tutor, this is not a side job for me—it is my profession. I maintain a professional, organized, and communicative approach with both students and parents.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy basketball, writing music on the piano, and experimenting in the kitchen.

If you’re looking for structured, consistent math support, I’d be happy to discuss your student’s goals and determine whether I’m a good fit.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

Many students underperform on ACT Math not because they lack ability, but because they lack structure. I work with students to analyze error patterns, develop pacing awareness, and prioritize high-probability question types. The result is not just stronger content knowledge, but greater control and consistency on test day.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Algebra is where long-term math confidence is built. I work with students to solidify foundational skills, clarify misconceptions early, and build fluency with equations, functions, and problem-solving. My sessions are structured and focused on preventing small gaps from becoming chronic struggles later in high school math.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Many Algebra II struggles stem from gaps that quietly formed in earlier courses. I work methodically to identify and correct those weaknesses while building strong understanding of functions, transformations, and advanced algebraic techniques. Students leave sessions more confident and better equipped for the demands of upper-level math.
Calculus

Calculus

Many students find Calculus overwhelming at first. I break down core ideas like limits, derivatives, integrals into manageable, connected concepts while reinforcing the algebraic precision required for success. Over time I focus on moving students from reacting to problems to approaching them with structure and control.
Discrete Math

Discrete Math

I have covered almost all areas of Discrete Math through my current tutoring. I also hold a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from Indiana University. I have logged nearly 1000+ hours tutoring with the majority of those hours spent on subjects covered in Discrete Math (probability, combinatorics, set theory). I also received an A in IU's Discrete Math course offered through the Computer Science department.
Finite Math

Finite Math

I have tutored Finite Mathematics for over 5 years and logged over 2000+ hours with students from all kinds of backgrounds. I have worked through nearly every problem in Indiana University's Finite textbook multiple times over with students in private sessions and lecture-style review sessions. I log almost 20 hours a week currently tutoring Finite on IU's campus. I have also received formal tutor pedagogy training through a semester-long practicum Doing this, I learned best tutoring practices and studied tutor/tutee relationships, especially relating to college students.
GRE

GRE

When taking the GRE for graduate school, I scored in the 90th percentile in both Quantitative(170) and Verbal(161) sections. I have been helping students with GRE prep ever since(2016) in addition to other math-based courses.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalculus is where students must develop strong function intuition and trigonometric fluency before entering Calculus. I help students organize complex topics like transformations, identities, exponential and logarithmic models into a clear and connected framework. Sessions focus on precision, pattern recognition, and building the conceptual readiness required for success in higher-level math.
Probability

Probability

In probability, success requires both conceptual clarity and strategic problem-solving. I guide students through combinatorics, probability distributions, and conditional reasoning with structured explanations and practice problems designed to build understanding and accuracy. This approach prepares students for exams, projects, and practical applications.
Statistics

Statistics

Many students find Statistics confusing because the language and interpretation feel unfamiliar. I break down core ideas such as probability, confidence intervals, hypothesis tests into clear, manageable steps while reinforcing the reasoning behind each method. The goal is confidence in both calculation and interpretation.

Excellent.

My son was struggling with learning trigonometry throughout distance learning. He was very stressed out about it. Vincent met with him and got him right back on track. Can’t say enough of things about Vincent- great with students, Patient, knowledgeable excellent teacher. Thank you Vincent.

10/10

Loved him. Super helpful and patient. Sent him my stuff early so he could prepare and came with multiple examples to work on and walked through every step patiently with me. For sure will be going back to him for next semester!

Well-prepared and targeted tutor

Vincent was very well prepared for our session, which I so appreciate in a tutor- he really dug into the specific issues I was facing and helped me work through them during our introduction. His lesson was also very targeted to my needs- the specifics of my test, and the strategies I need to learn to get my goal score. Vincent knows a lot more than the content, but how to teach it to you to reach your goals, and he's thorough in his preparation to make the most of the tutoring session. Highly recommend!

Vincent is Great!

I met with Vincent as well as a couple of tutors before my final exam for Pre-Calculus, and without a doubt, Vincent was my favorite. Not only was he very patient and knowledgable, but our 2 hour session flew by in what seemed like an hour. As someone who does not like math, I was shocked that I found myself intrigued for the entirety of the lesson.

Highly Knowledgeable/ Super friendly/ Patient

I am taking a stats and probability class and he was so helpful with teaching me about calculating probability, understanding null hypothesis, and using excel. I have never had a tutor before and his lesson helped me to not only figure out a problem, but to truly understand what is being taught from my class. I highly recommend Vincent as a tutor.

Knowledgeable, patient, and really helped improve my self-confidence.

I haven't taken a math class in over 15 years so in preparing for the GRE, I felt intimidated. Vince was very open-minded, friendly, and down-to-earth. He took the time to listen to my concerns and was well-prepared for the class. He was very patient with my struggles and he found a way to make the class humorous and entertaining as well! Most importantly, even as I made mistakes or was unable to work out the problems, Vince patiently helped me step-by-step, scaffolding my learning in a very concise and clear manner. Even after working out the problems, he would additionally ask me if I was still confused or had any questions. If you're looking for a tutor who will take an active interest in your learning and do so in an engaging manner, Vince is the right tutor for you.
