I am very passionate about teaching Hindi to new learners and help them to speak and understand Hindi with confidence.I am an advanced Hindi speaker with diverse professional experience both in India and the United States. To date, I have completed 3 professional translations from Hindi to English for Jagori (a non-profit organisation in Delhi, India) and for Dr. Tarannum Siddiqui from Jamia Millia Islamia University, have developed the research materials for and conducted research in Hindi in India for two research projects during my Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship (2017-2018), and have placed at the advanced level for the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI), an internationally recognized language measure. I also completed an internship with Jagori during my Fulbright Fellowship, during which my office assignments, meetings, and field work were conducted in Hindi. I also have extensive experience teaching at the university level and truly enjoy teaching and guiding students and learners. While completing my PhD in Psychology at Brigham Young University (2014-2018), I volunteered weekly to facilitate a Hindi speaking hour for beginning and intermediate Hindi students. In addition to providing encouragement and feedback, I challenged the students with whom I met to discuss current events, films, and culture in India to help them advance their Hindi. During my Fulbright Fellowship in Delhi (2017-18), I volunteered to tutor Beginning and Intermediate Hindi students from different countries who were scholars or working in India. I often focused on helping these students build their confidence in speaking Hindi and challenged them to apply grammatical concepts and new vocabulary in daily use. I have around 5 years teaching experience at the university level and have also taught and developed the curriculum for The KVM Foundation (Kala Vidya Marapu), a non-profit organisation based in Vishakapatnam, India. My teaching approach is interactive and I often facilitated group discussions, activities, and other applied methods while
