I have four years experience working as a high school chemistry teacher and taught the school’s three levels of AP, Honors, and College-Prep Chemistry. I designed the curriculum, assessments, and other resources for these courses and gained experience working with students of a variety of skill levels. Prior to working as a teacher, I worked at a private tutoring center and helped students one-on-one in chemistry, algebra, and ACT Math and Science. I graduated summa cum laude from college and took numerous education classes that were part seminar and part placement in a high school classroom. These classes introduced me to the strategies and approaches to take in working with students and allowed me to put these into practice in actual classrooms. Since the pandemic, I have moved back to private online chemistry tutoring and have used my teaching experience to help students on an individual level to achieve their academic goals.

I spent a lot of time developing and refining the curriculum and resources and thinking about how to best deliver these to students to allow them to develop a solid understanding of the material. I still utilize many of these resources including homework sets, lecture slides, and different levels of assessments while tutoring students, and I will also use any resources provided by students/parents. In my first year of teaching AP Chemistry in 2019 my class of 24 students showed a 100% pass rate and had an average score of 4.29 on the AP Exam. In 2020, I had 14 of 15 students earn a passing score on the AP Exam. Since then, I have moved to online chemistry tutoring and have worked with thousands of students over 5,000+ hours on Wyzant in AP, Honors, and College-Prep Chemistry.

I have four years experience working as a high school chemistry teacher and taught the school’s three levels of AP, Honors, and College-Prep Chemistry. I designed the curriculum, assessments, and other resources for these courses and refined them to most effectively deliver material to students. I also have several years experience tutoring chemistry to students on an individual level, including 5,000+ hours on Wyzant. My tutoring approach focuses on both the why and how of chemistry as I will explain to students both chemical principles and how to apply these principles in solving problems.

Outstanding AP Chemistry Class

My son took AP Chemistry tutoring, and it was incredibly helpful. The teacher is extremely knowledgeable and talented, and explains difficult concepts in a very clear and easy-to-understand way. My son gained much more confidence in chemistry thanks to these lessons. We truly appreciate all the support and highly recommend this tutor!

The Best Chemisty tutor!

Jordan immediately helped my son with honors chemistry. My eldest son was struggling and after one or two lessons with Jordan he got a 100 on the next test. Jordan has a great way of explaining material and we would highly recommend him. We did countless lessons during the year and my son went from a B- to an A.

Helps a lot

Jordan has been amazing with my son’s AP Chemistry. He went from a failing test score to a B with just a few lessons. They are now preparing for the AP exam and hopefully the results will be a lot better than we thought 2 months ago.

Great Explanations!

He gave me various ap-level practice questions for the unit I was struggling at and took time to explain them one by one. His explanations made me understand the concept to the core!!

Knowledgeable Tutor

Jordan has had 2 sessions with my daughter and after each session she states how much more she understand her chemistry topics. He reaches out prior to each session to ask what she is working on in class so he can be consistent with what her current topics are.

Outstanding AP Chemistry Class

My son took the AP Chemistry class, and it was incredibly helpful. The teacher is very knowledgeable and teaches at a high level, guiding students to truly understand each concept rather than just memorize formulas. It’s an excellent class that inspires curiosity and confidence in chemistry.

Incredible tutor, both knowledgeable and patient

Jordan has helped my daughter this year get through AP Chemistry. She was struggling with the concepts and earning Bs and Cs on her quizzes and exams. With Jordan’s help, she started to really understand what was happening in the class and starting earning As and Bs on her tests and quizzes. Her stress level went down tremendously and she was better able to focus at the tasks at hand. I would highly recommend Jordan for any chemistry class.
