I am an experienced tutor with a PhD from UC Berkeley and a wide array of teaching and tutoring experience. I'm also a professional writer and editor who has published widely in national publications like CNN, Politico, NPR and the LA Times.

I can help your student prepare their college application essays, including brainstorming and coaching them on their subject and then helping them editing their drafts. My teaching experience ranges from language classes with children to teaching college-level courses, and I have done both one-on-one tutoring and group classes. I have worked with students from an array of economic and cultural backgrounds and understand the need to tailor my teaching to respond to the diverse needs of my students.

Calm, clear, patient, and thorough!

My son, a HS Senior, has been working with Rebecca since last summer on SAT test prep and college application essay preparation. She very successfully assisted him with the SAT test structure and provided valuable test taking strategies and techniques. He was preparing to take the test for the second time and wished to increase his overall scores. With Rebecca's assistance, he was very successful! Rebecca also worked with my son on his essays for his UC application. She was great at helping him maintain his own voice in his writing while providing valuable structure, presentation, and grammatical tips. Great resource

Rebecca's helped my daughter with her English essay for her high school Honors English course. She provided great feedback and tips to improve her essay in making it more eloquent, concise and effective. In the past we have also had Rebecca help our twins with their conversational Spanish class. She is fluent and incredibly knowledgeable.
