She is really an excellent tutor. She told me a lot about the culture, geography and something else about America. She always corrected my mistakes patiently. It was very lucky to be her student.
I'm from Korea and working at a company in bay area. I wanted to improve listening and speaking in English to communicate well with my co-workers. I learned a lot from Janet who is helping me learn many expressions and practice to speak in English well. Thanks!
Very helpful, Very professional and Very patient! Thank you so much for the help. I really appreciate the time and work.
I asked Janet to proofread my personal statement to a graduate program. She corrected my grammatical mistakes and helped me with word choices. By the time we finished working on it, my statement was so much better and more clear! I couldn't be happier. So if you need help with your writing, she is the person to go to! Also, Janet is professional in every aspect. She wrote me back within a few hours every time I had questions. She was flexible when I asked her to change the meeting time the night before our session. She wasted no time when I met her in person to go over the statement. I'm happy I spent some time to find the "right tutor" because I'm definitely seeking her help again in the future!
I met Janet in March 2014. We have already had at least 30 sessions. She is not only intelligent and patient but she is also very flexible. I just want to say "Thank you!" to her. Hopefully, when other students are looking for some serious help on their writing they will consider Janet. My favorite English tutor!

She explains words and concepts in accessible language and provides excellent tips on improving critical reading and writing skills. I highly recommend Janet. If only I had found her years ago!
Janet gave me some career advice (tips on job questions and answers, translation issues, etc). Very helpful once again. Thanks!

This review is for a graduate course in the intersection of education and law. Janet is very patient, kind, and wants you to do well. It is wonderful to find a teacher/tutor that really cares. She is wonderful to talk about content, and she knows how to explain statutes in layman terms. She deconstructs tough text and explains it in a simple way. My point is that she is the best tutor, and I would recommend her to anyone who is struggling with issues with writing or breaking down complex text. She is wonderful.
Janet is one of the better tutors that I've had in the last few years. Janet was patient when I did not understand a concept that pertained to LSAT. I highly recommend her to anyone who is having difficulty with this test.
Janet is an incredible tutor. She adjusts her instruction to my specific needs and always comes with new ideas and worksheets to address those needs.

Janet does a fantastic job of making the material easy to understand. She has been an extraordinary tutor for my professional writing course. I highly recommend Janet.
Given the time and restriction, you still proofread in a timely and meticulous manner, and return my emails in a quick fashion. Your professionalism exceed my expectation. I appreciate that you're still patient when I repetitively show frustration and difficulty in grasping meanings on articles and tenses. Thank you for dedicating your time to help me.

Janet helped me a lot when I was preparing for law school finals. She makes the subjects easy to understand and helped me greatly with the analysis of my writing.
Janet seems to be more than a tutor. She mentors both of my daughter's who are in the 7th and 8th grade. She understood from almost the very first time, what they needed to work on and created a program that focused on those needs. She makes it entertaining, topical and most of all keeps the girls interested in writing. Could not give a higher recommendation than Janet!
Janet is very helpful with my paralegal studies especially on reviewing my homework, etc. Her work is very thorough and to the point. Thanks so much, Janet!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
