As a tutor and executive functioning coach, I teach dozens of standardized tests, including the SAT / ACT; ISEE / SSAT / HSPT; GED; GRE; GMAT; and a dozen AP tests (including all History, English, and Gov subjects). SAT / ACT is my bread and butter. My students have achieved perfect SAT and ACT scores along with major score increases. I offer students specific strategies for each section of the test. The SAT and ACT are very different from a test in school and need to be approached differently. The test strategies help students learn safer, quicker, and more accurate ways of solving questions. We also build academic skills like goal persistence, time management, and self-regulation. Half of my students have Learning Differences or are Neurodiverse. I also do academic tutoring for Math through Pre-Calculus, History, and Writing. I am a member of the Bay Area Tutoring Summit.
As an Independent Educational Consultant, I guide students and families through the process of applying to college. This can cover course selection, activities planning, college research and list development, and college essays. These services are offered hourly, so you can get the right amount of support for your needs. Many students choose to come to me just for their application essays. Students learn brainstorming and revision skills they can carry with them to college.
Students who work with me build the self-knowledge needed to find good fit colleges while building life-long study skills and self-awareness in the process. I am a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association and the Western Association for College Admissions Counseling. My college admissions students are attending schools including Harvard, Columbia, Colorado College, Johns Hopkins, Boston College, and Cal Tech.
