I am a graduate of UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health with an MPH in Environmental Health Sciences and a certificate in Multicultural Health, and I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola Marymount University. Through my experience as an admissions assistant at Loyola Marymount and later as the only student selected to serve as a Graduate Student Reviewer at UC Berkeley, I gained a unique perspective on both sides of the application process. I also spoke directly with admissions staff to learn what makes essays, personal statements, and applications stand out, which I now incorporate into my tutoring approach.
Over the past five years, I have guided students and early professionals in developing compelling academic writing and personal statements. This includes support for college applications, medical school essays, fellowship applications, clinical internship applications, scholarship essays, and research papers. I focus on helping students organize their thoughts, convey their experiences authentically, and strengthen the clarity and persuasiveness of their writing.
My philosophy is that every student is capable of producing compelling, high-quality essays. My role is to help them build confidence, refine their voice, and present their unique story in an effective manner. I tailor my approach to each student’s needs, emphasizing collaboration, critical thinking, and skill-building to ensure lasting improvement in their writing.
