I attended an excellent public high school, taking accelerated math, was chemistry lab technician, and achieved the highest cumulative score in physics. At Delta Community College in Stockton, as a leader of a diverse student government, I was appointed by the Dean to be Student Liaison to the City Council. At UC Berkeley I earned a BA in both Psychology and Sociology, with high honors.

I have taught classes on every subject in the Oakland, Emeryville, and Piedmont public school districts, from Pre-K through 12th grade. I enjoy working with students of all ages one-on-one, beginning at where they are on a subject, patiently building their confidence and enjoyment of learning, whenever possible using methods relevant to their lives and vision of their future.
In addition to studying natural and social sciences, I was appointed to the Berkeley City Planning Commission, working on local and regional sustainable land use initiatives; and, I was appointed to the Berkeley Commission for Socially Responsible Investment, the first of it's kind in the nation, to redirect City deposits from Apartheid and other destructive corporate practices to lenders with the best record of lending for community needs. I also innovated methods to finance acquisition.
Other professional experience has include educating the public on community-based sustainable economics for a democratic and livable future, through workshops, panel discussions, lectures, publishing newsletters and distributing literature. I innovated financial methods of property acquisitions for the community land trust in California, and established worker owned cooperatives, and permanently affordable housing cooperatives. As a construction manager and builder, I also can teach applied math for architectural drawings, and construction.
