I’ve been incredibly honored to have been serving as a guide and teacher of music to my cherished students for the last several years and it pleases me deeply to watch them grow before my eyes. I’ve been incredibly honored to have been serving as a guide and teacher of music to my cherished students for the last several years and it pleases me deeply to watch them grow before my eyes. My speciality is classical guitar and vocal performance but I also enjoy teaching jazz and pop music performance along with some theory all tailored to each individual student’s level and goals.

I have been playing guitar for over 25 years and studied classical guitar for 7+ years with a minor in music from UCSC.

I work with students from ages 5 to adult. To give a little overview of my approach, I always start lessons with something I created called the Guitar Road Map. This is basically a little map of the full neck of the guitar used in order to teach students all the note names for the open strings, the first three frets, and all the dotted frets of the guitar. I feel that it is crucial for students to know this information so that we have a common language with which we can use to navigate learning song pieces. As I specialize in beginner to moderate classical approach, I teach my students to use their fingers to pick the strings with their right hand while reading music rather than the use of a pick or strumming. Though some strumming is naturally incorporated into what I teach, arpeggios will be the primary style for playing. With that said, we will also learn a piece of music along side the road map and then eventually incorporate scales and some improve and theory if you as the student should wish to learn those skills.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to expand your abilities, I would be delighted to help you on your musical path.

I have been playing guitar for over 25 years and studied classical guitar for 7+ years with a minor in music from UCSC. I have toured and performed internationally as a guitarist and vocalist in my bands Foxtails Brigade and jazz project Laura & Anton for 10+ years. I started teaching about 4 years ago and discovered great joy in sharing the knowledge I’ve acquired through my years of experience.
Voice (Music)

Voice (Music)

I have loved singing for as long as I can remember and have been doing it professionally in my bands Foxtails Brigade and jazz project Laura & Anton for over 12 years having toured throughout Europe, the US, and parts of Asia. It brings me much joy to share the knowledge I’ve acquired through my experience to those who are eager to embark on their musical path. I also minored in music at UCSC with an emphasis on classical guitar. My approach with singing guidance in general is to help draw out your natural voice and magnify that. I believe that the best performances come from a place of honesty and embracing of one’s true self.
