Hi Everyone! My name is Naomi and I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Spanish alongside minors in Law and Society, Child Development, and Ethnic Studies. I have one to two years of tutoring experience working with students ranging from elementary school through college. I have helped elementary students strengthen their math and science skills. In addition, I have worked with high school and college students on English including writing, studying, and understanding challenging concepts. Through my own experience as a student, I learned how much of a difference it makes to have a teacher or tutor who is patient, understanding, and willing to explain something in a different way when it does not initially make sense. Such qualities are what I strive to bring to every tutoring session, ultimately cultivating an experience that is unique to the student themselves.

Through my own experience, I have learned the importance of tailoring any lesson to each student's pace, learning style, and goals. I also use a “learn by doing” approach (something highly valued throughout my time in college) where I encourage students to actively work through problems and concepts rather than simply providing them with answers. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, prepare for exams, or complete assignments, but also help them become more confident and independent learners.
