A little about my background and education. I graduated from UCLA with Bachelor's of Science degrees in Biology and Economics. I also graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College, Los Angeles and have been a licensed chiropractor since 1996. I have also taken and passed the math competency exams necessary to teach through Calculus. I have tutored for many many years, even when I was in high school I would tutor my friends in our math classes.
I was a math and science teacher for over 20 years, with my main focus being Algebra 1 and Geometry. While i have also taught other classes such as Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Pre-calculus, a majority of my schedule was usually Algebra 1 and Geometry. I have created a full year long curriculum for both of these classes. Throughout my 20 years of teaching I have worked with various types of students, including honors level students and students with learning differences. In addition to my teaching experience, I have also tutored for about 10 years, helping students succeed in classes such as Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics. As a one on one tutor I always meet the student at the level that they understand and if gaps need to be filled I would go back and review to fill in those gaps. My goal is to always improve understanding and help students be successful. I truly believe that I can help anyone better understand math and succeed no matter how difficult it may seem.
