Hello, I'm Ibrahim J. I have a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Statistics from NYU's Stern School of Business, where I graduated cum laude, and an MBA from Columbia Business School, where I received Dean's Honors with Distinction. Throughout my academic career, I became passionate about making difficult financial and analytical concepts understandable to others.
In addition to managing my own data analytics consulting business since 2018, I have accumulated a great deal of expertise instructing MBA students since 2017. I've learned from working closely with students that a supportive learning atmosphere and solid leadership are often necessary for success. I prioritize being thorough, patient, and personable.
My tutoring strategy is centered on making complex subjects approachable and realistic. In order to reinforce knowledge, I usually start by breaking down topics step-by-step and then provide guided examples and practical practice. Corporate finance, accounting, statistics, business analytics, and financial modeling including DCF, LBO, and three-statement models—are my areas of expertise. Additionally, I help in Excel and exam preparation, including CFA and GMAT.
I'm a musician in addition to coaching, and I like incorporating originality and adaptability into my teaching methods. I make an effort to modify each session to fit each student's unique learning objectives and needs.
