Hello! My name is Jae and I attended the University of Southern California where I earned both my BS and MS in Computer Science.
During my time at USC, I worked as a teaching assistant for two years in upper division computer systems classes. I also have experience teaching students from the elementary to high school level, both in and out of the classroom, so I’m comfortable teaching students of all ages.
My specialty is definitely Computer Science, specifically low-level, game, and graphics programming. However, I am also confident teaching math up to Calculus 2, English up to the elementary level, and ACT test prep. For the ACT, I received a 36 on my first try back in high school and am overall familiar with the structure and specific strategies for each section.
I believe that learning should come from the student, specifically that critical thinking is emphasized and conclusions reached by the student themselves. This makes learning an active process, which in turn makes it fun and engaging for the student, creating a positive feedback loop of learning and reward.
My cancellation policy is that communication occurs in advance by at least 6 hours before a session.
I am located in the San Fernando Valley area and comfortable with both in person and online sessions.
