Hello! My name is John, and I've had a passion for English my entire life. Such a strong passion, in fact, that I made it my career. I have been working in the field of education since 2016, when I taught my first college course, and have been an English teacher at one institute or another ever since. Now, I'm trying my hand at Wyzant to expand my classroom and tutoring experience to a wider group of potential students.

My goal with every student I have is to take the concepts and tasks which seem intimidating to you and break them down to show you exactly how simple they are if you approach them systemically. I believe that too many English teachers like to mystify the act of writing as a sacred practice. I prefer to give my students direct, practical, and efficient advice to improve their essays and their grades. Anyone can write, and write well; I hope to help you find that out firsthand.

My specialties are in the English portions of the SAT (particularly the Writing and Language section, which I have down to an absolute science), which I have been tutoring for 5 years now, and in helping you with your essay writing, as I have been teaching composition and rhetoric at the college level for 6 years now. That being said, I have also taught courses in literature and grammar, and can happily lend an experienced hand with these subjects just as easily.
