I grew up in Silver Spring, MD, right outside of the nation’s capital, and there I encountered all kinds of music. West African, Appalachian, Gogo, Funk, Classical, Jazz, and Metal all have deep cultural importance in what is known as the DMV (DC-Maryland-Virginia) area. I started playing guitar at age 7 after being in love with the instrument for years, and began to take lessons at age 8. I competed in Amateur Night at the Apollo at age 14 and age 16 and swept the competition both years playing Maggot Brain by Funkadelic, this was a pivotal moment in my adolescent life. After moving to Nashville, TN at age 17, I began to expand my craft, both through education and through Nashville’s vibrant music scene. As a home for some of the world’s best guitar players this was a testing ground and serious place of learning for me. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2018 I have been focused on Popular music of all genres and how I can contribute
I have been playing guitar for 19 years, electric, acoustic, classical, and bass. I also produce and write with a myriad of Pop artists.
