I am a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and an emphasis in Nursing. For the past 20 years, I have worked as a Functional Health Practitioner and hold certification in Functional Nutrition Counseling.
Throughout my career, my focus has been on educating clients and patients about the human body, nutrition, metabolism, anatomy, physiology and biology. I am also a professional science blog writer and content creator, which equips me to aid students with composition, grammar and essay writing. My true passion lies in teaching school-aged students how to nourish their bodies and take charge of their health and well-being. As a visiting instructor at several elementary, junior high, and high schools, I have had the privilege of working with students ages 7–18, providing both classroom instruction and individualized tutoring.
I offer exam preparation support, help with assignment completion, and collaborate closely with parents and guardians to honor each student’s unique learning style and preferences. My teaching approach focuses on helping students make meaningful connections between academic material and their own experiences. I believe that understanding the “why” behind lessons fosters lasting knowledge — encouraging integration rather than memorization. Most importantly, I strive to make every session engaging, supportive, and fun!
