My goal is to help students of all ages excel in their biological sciences, English/writing, communications, philosophy, and theology courses. I particularly enjoy assisting students comprehend challenging readings and concepts (if given advanced notice) and with written assignments, especially long-form (5+ pages) papers. I am happy to provide any assistance needed with written assignments, from brainstorming discussions through detailed feedback on draft papers. I am also available to meet in person or online with a small group of students to discuss readings and concepts, and to prepare for tests.

I have a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, a Master of Arts in Theology and Christian Ministry from Franciscan University of Steubenville, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Villanova University. I have worked in the pharmaceutical industry since 1999 as a Medical/Scientific Publication Planner and Writer, a Medical Communication Specialist, lead for a nationwide safety program, and a Learning and Performance/Training Professional.

My areas of expertise are mammalian biology, pharmacology, cancer, cardiovascular disease, business writing and communication, scientific writing and communication, philosophy of science, metaphysics, bioethics, Judeo-Christian Scriptures, and Catholic dogmatic and moral theology.

I have taught sessions of hundreds of people, as well as small groups and individual students. I began mentoring individual pharmacy graduate students in 2013, and tutoring theology/philosophy students in 2022. As a volunteer, I have taught adults, teenagers, and children theology for over 20 years, and have presented on professional topics to high school students.

Approved Subjects

Bible Studies

Bible Studies

I have a Master's degree in Theology and Christian Ministry from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, where I studied Catholic dogmatic and moral theology, Church history, and the Old and New Testaments. My studies have included a special emphasis on the Gospel of Luke and on the Jewish roots of Christianity. In addition, I have been a volunteer teaching theology for teenagers and adults since 2005.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

I hold a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. My research there examined the role of small G-proteins in growth and apoptosis of the pulmonary microvasculature with respect to mechanisms of disease development of pulmonary hypertension. Since then, I have spent over 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry as a medical writer and publication planner, a medical communication specialist, the lead for a Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-mandated patient safety program, and a Learning and Performance (training) lead. My areas of expertise include cancer, bone health, and cardiovascular disease.
Philosophy

Philosophy

I have philosophy training at the undergraduate and graduate level, and have successfully tutored philosophy at the graduate level (including with the major paper).
Writing

Writing

In addition to the writing involved in obtaining Masters in Theology and PhD in Pharmacology degrees (several papers and a 150 page doctoral thesis), I have 10+ years experience in scientific communication, especially writing. My approach is to work with students to highlight their ideas in a meaningful and impactful manner, and to help them to find their own writer's voice.

AP Biology

William was able to schedule my daughter on the same day with very little notice, we were very appreciative. She finds the sessions incredibly helpful and her understanding of the material and her grades have improved vastly .

Inspiring Tutor

William gave me a lot of great ideas regarding the worldbuilding in my story. If I get this flatlining project off the ground, he will be one of the first I thank.
