Hey everyone, I'm Ashley Sanft, a 4th year at Cal Poly SLO studying Environmental Management and Protection in the University Honors Program. I graduated from my high school with the Summa Cum Laude distinction, and am now holding a 4.0 in my STEM undergraduate program. Throughout my school experience, I've worked through difficult courses, shifting my skillset and study strategies to create the best plan to succeed. With this background experience, I have been able to come up with the best ways to learn and retain information, while earning high grades in my classes. I have taken classes at varied difficulty levels (CP, Honors, AP, and college-level) and have experienced and applied different styles of pedagogy. Thus, I understand that each student is individual and every class is unique, requiring a tailor-fit tutoring style for each student.

As a student myself, I can empathize with the stress and pressure of school. I hope for all my students to feel accomplished at the end of the school-week, confident that the work they're turning in reflects their efforts entirely. Botany

In my course of study, I've taken multiple courses related to botany and the natural world. In such classes, I've learned over 70 plants and their scientific names, as well as their importance to given ecosystems. In addition, I have knowledge of basic taxonomic parts of plants and how to key trees in one's area. My expertise is the most specific to San Luis Obispo, CA, but I do know many of the plants in California.
