I am currently a college and university teacher with many years of teaching both K-12 students, college students, and adult education students. Subjects I teach include computer networking, programming, office applications, GIS, math, screenwriting, physics, electronics, chemistry and graphics. My bachelors of science is in Mechanical Engineering. In addition I have a masters in Computer Information Systems, a certificate in computer programming and a liberal arts degree. Currently I am pursuing my Masters in Applied Math from University of Washington. I love math and writing. The secretary to the Solano College president once took a class from me and she said to me, "If a student can't learn from me, he or she can't learn." I am well-regarded and loved as a teacher on my campuses. I have often tutored students in various subjects. I love to learn and hopefully inspire that in all that I reach. I use humor and fun and simple explanation to inspire learning.

JoAnne is a very knowledgeable and patient tutor when teaching SAT math to my child, she found various math basics she had not been taught, I would recommend her.
She really took time to explain certain steps out. I really appreciate that she explained some of the main principals of algebra too. Shes very kind and easy to talk to so I don't see where I will have a problem speaking up if I don't understand something. I'm so appreciative that she brought me a workbook and worksheets to practice with until our next lesson.
I have been meeting with JoAnne for a couple of weeks now and have to say I am very pleased with our lessons. She has a brilliant way of teaching and my understanding of Algebra is far greater in the last two weeks than it has been for the last couple of months, learning on my own. JoAnne is also very friendly and has great people skills. JoAnne's way of teaching is easy to comprehend and fun at the same time. I would highly recommend JoAnne to anyone that is wanting to learn Math quickly and efficiently.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
