Approved Subjects

Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Algebra II is one of several subjects I tutored in at Palomar College, and I tutored in the subject for high school and college students with great success. As Algebra II is a precursor to many courses in mathematics and the sciences, I believe it is crucial to have a solid understanding in the subject.
Calculus

Calculus

I tutored in math for Palomar College for a year, then I tutored privately up until now in math. During this period I have had many calculus students at Palomar and several students as a private tutor, all of whom were pleased with my services.
Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering

I have received my bachelor's degree in chemical engineering this year from UCSD with a major GPA of 3.555. I am also a certified Engineer in Training in chemical engineering and seeking to obtain my Professional Engineering license in the next two to four years. I have tutored in several chemical engineering topics such as fluid mechanics and engineering thermodynamics, and I have assisted my classmates in understanding the current material with great success.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I have tutored several people in chemistry prior to joining Wyzant, and I have informally assisted peers in understanding general chemistry at the San Diego colleges. As a chemical engineer, I highly value chemistry as an important subject and will help you understand it better.
Geometry

Geometry

I have tutored in geometry since I started tutoring in 2011. Geometry is second hand to me as a chemical engineer and I will help your student understand it clearly.
MATLAB

MATLAB

The chemical engineering department at UCSD requires one course in MATLAB and highly recommends using the language throughout the program. As such, I am comfortable with MATLAB and Simulink, its dynamics simulation counterpart. I have also helped my classmates understand how to use MATLAB to their advantage in chemical engineering coursework as well as math and numerical methods coursework.
Physics

Physics

I took AP Physics B (algebra based) in high school, and I also took the college physics courses, including the topics of kinetics, electricity & magnetism, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and optics. I especially rely on thermodynamics and fluid mechanics as a chemical engineer, but I believe all of these are important for everyone to understand.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I have tutored in precalculus since Palomar College. Since this is a precursor to the calculus series as well as many science and engineering applications, I believe it is crucial to understand this subject well. As such, I will use my knowledge and experience to ensure that the student understands and exceeds in precalculus.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I have tutored in trigonometry extensively in Palomar College and as a private tutor. This subject must be well understood to succeed in calculus and physics, in which I have demonstrated proficiency. As such, while tutoring in calculus, I seek to ensure the student's understanding of trigonometry is correct.

Tutor session with Travis

Daniel did a great job tutoring my 11th grader. He was patient and thorough and helped my son feel more confident in just one lesson.
